Welcome to the President's Corner

Happy New Year!!

Hopefully everyone is alright as we all get back to semi-normal after the recent ice storm. Makes you happy you're an outdoorsman, because most of us have lanterns, cook stoves, heaters and generators. That stuff comes in awful handy when you have to use it to stay fed and warm.

Our condolences go out to Duane and Nancy Boynton, who lose two family members late this past year. Duane's mother and brother. Our thoughts and prayers are with you in this time of sorrow.

Most of you are a little more than half way through your hunting season. Hopefully your luck at being able to go has been better than mine. From numerous reports the bird population has bounced back from the previous year. Still not great but at least it is worth the effort when you do get to go. Paul Gallagher had his annual hunt out at Hooker again and from what I am hearing everyone got plenty of shooting and would have gotten more birds had they all practiced more. Thanks a lot Paul, everyone had a great hunt!!

The officers got together and selected the dates for the spring season. They are posted on the website under Events. The Championship at Valley View will be held on the 1st and 2nd of March. Those of you that have made the team, please check your calendars to see if you will be able to participate on that weekend. If not, let us know so we can get a replacement notified.

Our website was down temporarily. If you are here you know that www.tulsabirddogclub.org is the new domain name. We will eventually get the old domain name switched over and you will be able to use either one and get to the website.

Keep informed on HB3192 and what our speaker at the January 22nd meeting had to say. Contact your legislator about your view on this important bill that can affect many of you. As a club we may want to take a position in regards to this bill.

Thanks to Country Vet representatives for the great information they shared with us at the November meeting and for the prizes the provided.

With the bird season nearing an end, think of this; you all probably have birds in the freezer, so start leaving birds for next year's population. Make it a challenge. Maybe only one shell in your gun or just shoot make quail. It's just a though.
