With the club trials and fun hunts starting in
September along with bird season in the middle and
then extending the fun with spring trials and fun
hunts, I would say that is a dog's dream come true. I
think us owners enjoy it just as much. Our spring
season is upon us. Those of you that have been in the
club know this is the beginning of the competition
points for the 2008 top dog and puppy(Add spring and
fall points together). It will also put you on the
championship team should you make it in the top six.
This year out team goes to Valley View Hunting Club,
chosen t host the 2007 Championship. Good luck guys.
Make us proud.
Those of you that were at the January meeting heard Jeff Hampshire give us the inside scoop on House Bill 3192 that is up for approval in the Oklahoma legislature(It did not get out of committee). I realize that most of you are not in the kennel business. Hopefully you got your dog from a reputable kennel. Please realize that if this bill should pass, the costs will be passed on to you when you get another dog. Another thing h said that you may have missed is that dogs that are purchased out of state will be required to have a transfer license, costing approximately $650. That is shipping out or in! My feeling is why should I have to pay for the mistake breeding of individuals. They should be responsible enough t not allow this to happen. We are going to be forced to pay for their mistakes. Those people are not being affected by this bill. Call your representatives and let them know this is not a good thing.
To get your dogs entered in the next trial got to the entry form here on the website. We will be drawing at the meeting the Wednesday night before the trial. See you at the trial!!
Our next club meeting is Tuesday February 26th at the library.
It seems a little early to be talking about fleas and ticks. But with the moisture we have had and the warm weather approaching it is a perfect incubation recipe. Start saturating your ground with pellets NOW!! You will be happy that you didi.
